our standards

We started this mission as a labor of love and respect, and it remains as such. We refuse to compromise the well being of our companion animals, and we reject companies that don't look out for their best interest. We are not shy about saying no to companies that have requested to be on our series, but have proven to have less than respectable motives. This includes sites promoting the sale of puppies, companies with links to pro-greyhound racing info and others.

Over the years, our founder has consistently fostered positive change on behalf of animals, through technology, literary works, social projects and more. Read highlights of our founder's projects.

We welcome the following types of companies:

  • Stores and other businesses that allow pets on the premises
  • Parks that allow pets
  • Housing and apartment complexes that allow pets
  • Employers that allow pets to come to work
  • Businesses that offer products to improve pets' lives and our lives wih them - holistic pet food, healthy treats, beds, saddle and tack supplies, etc.
  • Companies that support animal shelters or other rescue efforts
  • People who provide services to enhance the well being of pets and / or their human caretakers.
  • Equestrian communities and reputable stables
  • Restaurants, cafes, etc. that allow pets
  • Any other business that can demonstrate that they are honestly pet friendly

We reject the following types of companies:

  • Pet stores
  • Backyard breeders or any other company that treats pets like commodities
  • Companies that sell obviously unhealthy or unsafe products
  • Those who advocate owning exotic pets (primates, snakes, big cats, etc.)
  • Any other business that cannot demonstrate that they are honestly pet friendly
